Can you believe they have the audacity? Welcome to the have the Audacity podcast. I'm your host, jacey Lawlin. I'm on a mission to empower women like you to live audaciously. What does it mean to live audaciously, you ask? Living audaciously means you're no longer available for living your life based on someone else's agenda, standards or boundaries. It's time to activate your power, use your voice and create the life you're meant to live. Speaker 1:I am super excited for today's episode and I know I say that every time, but it's just so true. I genuinely don't think I could pick a favorite that I've recorded. But this is episode 120. I just feel like that's kind of cool. I mean, like it's not kind of cool. It is cool to be 120 episodes in on something I started in 2022 and now, if you're listening to this in real time, we're in July of 2024 and it's just cool to see how far we've come in that time. But I came across this and it's not new to me. It's not a new idea. I'm not by any way going to say you could do a quick Google search and see lots of different ways. This has been done, but I'm putting my own twist on it and I want you to think about this question.
Speaker 1:What if you are only six months away from your goal? What if you're only six months away from the life you've dreamt of? You're six months away from the health you've dreamt of. You're six months away from the income you've dreamt of. You're six months away from the lifestyle you've dreamt of. You're six months away from the body you've dreamt of. You're six months away from the work you've dreamt of. What if you're six months away Right now, in this moment? You're six months away from the thing that you want. And what if you stopped waiting for someone or something to come along and give you permission to go after those things? And what do you think would happen if you started acting like that every day, like if I told you right now you were six months away from that thing you want. But here's the catch For that six months every day. You have to do act, make the choices of the version of you that already has the thing that you want. That's the catch. You're six months away if you show up every day like the version of you that already has it. Don't say, well, I can't. I mean, I don't know, jc, this isn't how it works. Yes, you do. Yes, you know.
Speaker 1:You and I both know the things we need to do to reach our goals and, for whatever reason you aren't there's a multitude of reasons we talked about on this podcast that you're getting in your own way, self-sabotage, holding that you're getting in your own way, self-sabotage, holding yourself back from the thing that you want, fear of success, fear of failure, there's all these things. But what if you just called BS on it all and said six months, I can have the thing that I want right now If I show up, like the person who already has it. I adapt the thoughts, the mindset, the habits of the person who are a version of me that already has the thing that I want, and I show up like that every day for six months. And so this idea and this challenge, like I'm personally going to do it, starting on August 1st, if you want to join me, you can. Speaker 1:I am doing this. I have goals that I'm working for. One of the things that I'm doing to create space and have the habits of the person, of the version of me who has the thing that I want and I'm going to act like I already have it. I'm going to act like that version of me. Now I was thinking what is one of the things?
Speaker 1:Well, that version of me doesn't spend a lot of time watching TV. So you know what I did? I canceled all of my streaming services and, I'm not gonna lie, I had a little bit of a moment where I panicked because fall is like primetime TV time. Got Grey's Anatomy, dancing with the Stars those might not be your favorite shows, but shows come back in the fall. It's prime TV time. I canceled all of them. They're all gone for six months, starting August 1st. August 1st to February 1st no streaming services. That's going to include all the holidays where there's a lot of extra time to watch TV, all of it. Now, dvd, like those aren't off the table, but no streaming services. None, six months.
Speaker 1:Because the version of me in six months doesn't spend a lot of time watching TV. She's too busy working on her goals and so I'm removing that, creating space for that. So what is something right now that immediately comes to your mind like, oh, I create space for this. What does the version of me who has the thing that I want, whether it's house, what does that person do? They go to the gym every day. They drink water, start the day with water, they get eight hours of sleep. What are those things? And you start doing them. Now you tell yourself you are that person who already has a think. You are that version of you and you know what's wild in six months.
Speaker 1:And you tell yourself six months, february 1st, six months from whatever day. You're listening to this and you start it six months from then. We're just going to hear. We're just going to hear. We're just going February 1st. You do this on August 1st. We're just going to here. We're just going to here. We're just going February 1st. You're doing this on August 1st. We're just going to February 1st. I can do this till February 1st. I can do this till February 1st. You just keep telling yourself there's an end in sight. There's an end in sight. You know what's probably going to happen, which I'm really excited to talk about in February with you is that's just going to become who you are. It's not going to be some hard sacrifice or pushing yourself to do things. It's just going to be come who you are and you're going to reach those goals because you are that person.
Speaker 1:So I'm doing the audacious six months challenge Like live audaciously for six months. Live like the version of you that already has the thing that they want. So I'm hosting a free challenge. It is linked at the show notes. You can join. It's going to be simple. I'm going to send out an email. It'll come out every week from the day you sign up. The first one will go out August 1st and it'll be scheduled. So, no matter when you're listening to this, no matter when you join, each email will come out a week after you've received the first one for six months. And I'm really pushing myself to go farther. So I'm adding on to it, because if you listen to the previous episode and if you haven't, you need to go check it out.
Speaker 1:I talked about redefining success, and success for me is if one person breathed easier because I lived, then I was, and so, with this in mind and just the current state of things and what I value is important. I'm going to do a good news share every day on Instagram. I am prioritizing in the six months pushing out positive content and pushing against the negative content that is going on right now and pushing out good energy into the world.
