Speaker 1:

Can you believe they have the audacity?

Speaker 1:

Welcome to the have the Audacity podcast. I'm your host, jacey Lawlin. I'm on a mission to empower women like you to live audaciously. What does it mean to live audaciously, you ask? Living audaciously means you're no longer available for living your life based on someone else's agenda, standards or boundaries. It's time to activate your power, use your voice and create the life you're meant to live. So the next time someone asks, can you believe she had the audacity, you can look at them and say, yeah, I did. Hey, audacious Human. I am so glad that you're here today and I wanted to bring you this idea. That, honestly, was such a good perspective shift for me that I knew I had to come here and share it with you, because if it was useful for me, it's going to be useful for more than just me.

Speaker 1:

And I recently, thanks to social media, came across a new podcast. It's not new new, but it's new to me. It's called the Sacred Thomas Podcast and I guess it is kind of new. It was episode 16 that I was listening to and this quote was on there and I really liked this perspective and I hadn't heard it this way, and in this episode they were talking about. These two men were talking about purpose and you know that really aligns with what we've been talking about on the podcast lately, about success and perspective. And you know we've been talking about success and defining it for yourself and knowing like living like the person who's six months away from your goal, like living like that person now and just all these shifts to some people will say timeline jump, which is kind of woo woo for a lot of people, but help you reach your goals faster. Essentially, what that is, and a key part of this, is purpose and I thought this was such a good reminder that I had to bring to you today and we had to talk about and in this episode, like I said, it's the Sacred Thomas podcast, episode 16, that I was listening to and Preston Smiles, the person on there, said that I was listening to and Preston Smiles, the person on there, said the thing that holds most people back from finding their purpose is thinking they are not in it right now, like, oh, that's so good.

Speaker 1:

The thing that holds most people back from finding their purpose is thinking they are not in it right now. That's just what I talked about last episode, about you're six months away from your goals, but the catch is you have to act like the person who already has it. You have to act like the version of you that's reached your goal. That's the only way you're going to get there. And so, like, how good is that?

Speaker 1:

The thing that holds people back from finding their purpose is thinking they're not already in it. Like what you are doing right now is on purpose. You aren't in where you are for a reason. You're already in your purpose, and I love how he explained this, because you're like, okay, jc, this literally makes no sense. Like I'm not in my purpose right now. Now, stay with me.

Speaker 1:

What if you're looking for your purpose in the wrong place? Like you're looking for your purpose and immediately, what you can see around you in your present moment, right now, and we don't get this perspective. And he uses this analogy and it's like an ant and a cookie analogy, and it's so. He talks about how you have ants On one side of a room and like you're going to take the perspective of God In this, in this moment, because you know, I believe in God. God's outside of time. He sees all One side of the room. So you can go with this. Stay with me.

Speaker 1:

So you're on one side of the room Are these ants? Is a cookie? Now, they don't know that they're coming for this cookie, like they're looking for food and they don't know that it's right there. Like, because to an ant, six feet that's a long way, that's like worlds away. But to you outside of it you're like, oh look, it's right there, you're just right there, you're literally almost there. That's what it looks like when you're in your purpose. Like you're already in the room. You may not see it, it doesn't look exactly like you think it's supposed to look yet, or that vision that's on your heart or the thing you're meant to do, but you're in your purpose right now. You're in your purpose right now. You're in your purpose right now. You know people always say hindsight's 20-20, and I mean it's so true.

Speaker 1:

If you looked back on your life right now, reflected on the last five to 10 years, you could connect the dots, looking backwards on how everything you've been through has prepared you for this moment you're currently in. It's because you're already in your purpose. You're already there. Your life right now is preparing you for where you're going. Perspective is everything Like, oh, I'm like 10 years from my goal or I'm six months. I'm six months from my goal. Dude, you're six months from your goal. You're in it. The thing that you're doing right now is preparing you for what is next. You have to be ready for it.

Speaker 1:

I just really wanted to leave you with today to think about this. The thing that holds most people back from finding their purpose is thinking they're not in it right now. Right now, you're in. What you're in. Your life is where it's at in this moment, on purpose, for a purpose. You're in your purpose right now. So, if we think back to this whole six-month challenge I talked about last episode and if you haven't listened to last week's episode, I will loop you in.

Speaker 1:

But we're acting like we, whatever goal we have, we're acting like we already have it, the version of us that already have it, the habits that we need, the choices that we make, the things we need to do. We are living that now. It's the same for your purpose. You're like Jaycee, I'm here to impact millions of people. Cool, have you impacted one? Are you impacting the people that you interact with every day? Are people lives better because you're in it? Like, think about it. How are you going to be trusted with many if you can't be trusted with a few. Live in your purpose now, that big vision, that big dream, that purpose you know you are here for, or you're like JC I have no idea what my purpose is, what my purpose is Okay, cool, look around right now. Think back to success and ask reveal my purpose to me. I have to ask be open to receiving what it is. How can you live your purpose right now? Because perspective is everything. Now, before I go, if you haven't already, if this is your first episode, welcome, so glad you're here.

Speaker 1:

I am doing a six month, an audacious six month challenge. So it's this whole idea that you are six months away from whatever goal you want. The catch is you have to live like the person who already has the goal. You have to make the choices, you have to do the things. Live in the way that you would live if you had your goal. You're doing it now for six months, every day for six months, and to have. We're building a community around this. So there's a free Facebook group you can join. We are all in this back together. You can join anytime from the time that you join we're starting on August 1st. If you're listening to this, it's in July 2024. We're starting August 1st, 2024. I'm doing it with you and every week you will get a new email to encourage you on this journey and the Facebook group will be there to celebrate your wins, encouragement, supporting each other, having community around this, and you can join anytime. If you're listening to this and you're like, wow, jc, it's 2025. Cool, welcome, so glad that you're here. Come join. This is open and it's free. Come join the community Six months. What if you were six months from? The thing that you catch is you have to act like and make choices like you already have it.

Speaker 1:

And the third last thing I have is I cannot let you go without sending you off into the rest of your day with the reminder that I want you to always remember you are worthy, you have value, you get to take up space in this world simply because you exist. Don't let anyone, including yourself, convince you otherwise. And if that idea or vision for your life is in you, it is for you. Living with this phrase in mind in today's world is such a truly audacious thing for you to do so. Until the next time I talk to you, remember, have the audacity.
